A community of seafaring people in Malaysia, the indigenous Bajau are being evicted to make way for rapid urbanisation in Sabah, Malaysian Borneo
Hundreds of Bajau Laut, a seafaring indigenous tribe in Malaysia, have been evicted from their homes in Semporna, Sabah. These Sea Nomads are found seafaring between Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia. They are deprived of any citizenship and basic fundamental rights.
Hailed as Masters of the Seas, the Bajau are now facing new-age issues due to rapid urbanisation.
