Sharing her experience of working with the filmmaker, Shabana said that doing the film was a ball. The actress revealed that she completely surrendered herself to Karan Johar and designer Manish Malhotra. She also added that if people like her in the film, the credit goes to them and vice versa.
This will also be the first time Shabana will be sharing the screen space with Jaya Bachchan in the movie. Talking about it, she said that unfortunately, she doesn’t have much work with her and that’s something she feels really sad about.
Speaking about Jaya, Shabana added that the Bachchan star is the reason she joined the film institute (Film & Television Institute of India). According to Shabana, when she saw Jaya in a diploma film of the film institute called Suman, she was completely taken aback because she had never seen that kind of acting in Hindi films.
Later, she went on to watch her performance in Abhimaan, and I tried to apply at the same place. According to her, when Jaya comes on screen, you just can’t move your eyes away from her. She also hoped that they will get to do more work together.
The Karan Johar directorial stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. It is slated to hit the theatres in July this year.
